Hoop Dreams 25th Anniversary Q&A tour

Hoop Dreams is currently touring around UK indie cinemas until the end of November with the last stop at the Sheffield Showroom for their Sheffield Doc Fest monthly series. New Acquisition: Hoop Dreams

We are very excited to announce our newest acquisition HOOP DREAMS. First exhibited at the 1994 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the audience award, HOOP DREAMS is the remarkable true story of two American dreamers; an intimate reflection of contemporary American inner-city culture, following two ordinary young men on the courts of the game they love. HOOP DREAMS will tour cinemas later this year to celebrate its 25th anniversary.



Programming – Folkestone Quarterhouse

We’re excited to announce our new partnership with the Folkestone Quarterhouse programming their new monthly documentary club which gives us a great opportunity to bring documentaries from around the world to Folkestone and to build a documentary community.



POW! Thanet – Power of Women

Co-founder of Violet Pictures Jan Dunn was invited to Pow Thanet who’s goal is to encourage community involvement in local arts and cultural activities, and profiling the work of local female artists. Jan hosted a panel on Mary Beard’s book Women and Power and you read her summary here on the event.
